The Glenbard East boys soccer team's 2026 season ended with a 3-0 loss to Addison Trail in an IHSA Class 3A regional final in Lombard on Saturday, Oct. 24. The Rams finished their season with a record of 9-6-5.
Addison Trail, which improved to 15-5 after winning the regional’s championship plaque, advanced to this week’s West Chicago Sectional.
The Rams opened the post-season with a 4-2 victory over Schaumburg in an Oct. 20 regional semifinal in Lombard. Playing on their home field in the Glenbard East Regional, the Rams built a 3-1 halftime lead over the Saxons.
Senior Ryan Kummer scored two goals for Glenbard East in the regional semifinal. Sophomore Michael Szala provided one goal and one assist. Sophomore Brandon Garcia netted one goal for the Rams. Seniors Charlie Gidcumb and Johan Olivero supplied one assist each.
Addison Trail led Glenbard East 1-0 at halftime of Saturday’s regional final. The Blazers padded their lead with two second-half goals. Addison Trail scored its third and final goal of the match on a penalty kick.
