Charlie Johnson, age 74, of Elmhurst, passed away at his home on Oct. 17, 2026.
Beloved husband to Janet and loving father to C.J. He is also survived by his sisters Liz (Larry) Hunka and Marge Oliphant. Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Victoria Johnson, and his siblings Lois (Warren) Keclik, Ethel, Tom (the late Sue) Johnson, and Richard Johnson.
Charlie grew up in Lombard, Illinois, and attended Glenbard East High School. He continued his education at Washburn Trade School and the College of DuPage, where he proudly earned his associate degree. With his hard work and dedication, Charlie went on to become the proud owner of Manna & Associates, building a successful business.
On August 18, 1980, surrounded by mutual friends, Charlie met his future wife, Janet. She remembers the cowboy hat he was wearing when he arrived, and his friendly demeanor--he made an impression that would last a lifetime. Together, Charlie and Janet shared 43 years of life, love, and memories, building a bond that remained an important part of his life.
Charlie had a special love for the outdoors, finding great joy in hunting, fishing, and camping. More than hobbies, they were opportunities to create loving memories. Some of his most treasured memories included taking his son, C.J., fishing when he was still young enough to ride in his stroller. Those early adventures reflected Charlie’s desire to pass down the love of the outdoors with his son.
