Glenbard East’s girls volleyball team lost 25-20, 25-23 to South Elgin in a Sept. 1 match in Lombard. One day after losing to South Elgin, the Rams earned a 26-24, 25-20 home win over Glenbard North. Glenbard East raised its season record to 3-5 with its win over the Panthers. Senior Taylor Griffith, who is pictured during last week’s match against South Elgin, provided five assists and four digs for the Rams in their Sept. 2 victory over Glenbard North. Senior Belle McDermott supplied eight kills, six digs and three blocks for Glenbard East in the win. Senior Claire Bolda contributed five kills for the Rams, while sophomore Madison Schmidt hit four kills. Sophomore Olivia Stieve handed out 10 assists in Glenbard East’s Sept. 2 victory. Junior Abby Michelon served four aces and made four digs. Sophomore Eileen Urbina delivered six digs and three assists.
