Glenbard East’s girls and boys cross-country teams competed in the recent “Run So As To Win” Invitational at Marmion Academy in Aurora. Junior Teigan O’Donnell ran to a first-place finish in the 3-mile girls race at the Sept. 16 event. O’Donnell, who qualified for the IHSA Class 3A state meet in 2024 and 2025, finished the race in a winning time of 18 minutes, 54.4 seconds. She crossed the finish line a little more than 10 seconds ahead of the runner-up. The girls race featured 155 finishers.
Glenbard East freshman Isabelle Budy (20:48.8) ran to a 25th-place finish. Sophomore Ellie Pangilinan (23:10.2) of the Rams landed in 47th place. Junior Charlotte Kemmerling (23:33.9; 55th) and freshman Monroe Brumm (24.11.1; 70th) completed Glenbard East’s scoring lineup. The Rams finished fifth in the team standings of the event, which included 13 teams.
The Rams’ boys team placed seventh out of 17 teams in the Sept. 16 competition in Aurora. Senior Alexander Hernandez led the Rams with his sixth-place finish. He covered the 3-mile course in 16 minutes, 24.2 seconds. Sophomore Ryker Tiltges (17:38.7) placed 27th for Glenbard East. Junior David Botero (17:40.1) finished in 30th place for the Rams. Junior Jason Kelly (18:31.9; 68th) and sophomore Nolan Walsh (18:37.0; 72nd) rounded out Glenbard East’s scoring lineup.
