Margaret “Peggy” Younger, 87, a lifetime resident of the Lombard and Villa Park area, passed away Sept. 19, 2026.
You could say Peggy was the loving aunt to Carol (John) Knopf, but it would be more appropriate to call her Carol’s mom. Peggy raised Carol as her own, and Carol and John’s children Chuck (Rose) Janousek, and Michelle Janousek, as her grandchildren. She had a special bond with ‘her great grandchildren' Brandon Barton, Nathan Dodmead, Halas Janousek and Savannah Koch.
Peggy was one of seven siblings, whom she loved dearly. The late Mary Younger, the late Donald Younger, the late James A. Younger, the late Barbara (the late Gene) Przybylski, the late Robert Younger, and the late Rich (Toni) Younger; and Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Peggy grew up in Lombard, graduating from Sacred Heart Catholic School, and later Immaculate Conception Catholic High School. She was a lifelong parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
To say Peggy was a Chicago Cubs fan would be an understatement. She loved her Cubbies, attending countless games, meeting Ernie Banks, Ron Santo, Billy Williams, among others. She proudly passed down her fandom to her family.
A Visitation was held on Wednesday Sept. 23, 2026, from 3-8 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard IL. Funeral Prayers were held on Thursday Sept. 24 at 9:15 a.m. at Brust Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 114 S. Elizabeth St., Lombard at 10 a.m. Sept. 24. Interment at Queen of Heaven immediately followed.
