Lombard celebrates 20 years of connecting seniors with resources at annual Senior Fair Oct. 7

Posted

The Village of Lombard invites residents to attend the 20th annual Lombard Senior Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lombard Park District’s Madison Meadow Athletic Center, 500 E. Wilson Ave. Admission for this event is free.

For two decades, the Lombard Senior Fair has brought together organizations, agencies and service providers to connect older adults with helpful information and resources in one convenient location. This year’s milestone event will continue that tradition with health and wellness services, community resources and opportunities for attendees to learn about programs and services designed to support older adults.

Attendees can take advantage of free health screenings and flu vaccinations provided by local health care professionals and connect with organizations offering information about senior programs, housing, home health care, accessibility, financial services and other resources.

The Illinois Secretary of State’s Mobile Driver Services Facility will also be on-site. Services include driver’s license and state ID card renewals, vehicle registration stickers, and organ and tissue donor and voter registration services associated with a driver’s license or state ID transaction. Appointments are required for DMV services and can be scheduled through the appointment portal on the Senior Fair webpage.

In addition to the many services and resources available, attendees can enjoy complimentary coffee and snacks throughout the event. The Lombard Park District will also provide Senior Fair attendees with free all-day passes to the Madison Meadow Athletic Center.

The Senior Fair is coordinated by the Village’s Community Relations Committee and made possible through the participation of local agencies, community organizations, health care providers and businesses committed to serving older adults.

With a wide range of services and resources available in one place, the Lombard Senior Fair is a convenient opportunity for older adults to get information, ask questions and connect directly with local organizations and service providers.
