During Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 4-10) the Lombard Fire Department on Oct. 7 held its annual open house, titled “Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower,” at Fire Station 45, 50 E. St. Charles Road. The event featured emergency vehicles, demonstrations of services and equipment, a history of the fire department, utility companies, the Metra Police and more. In one photo, the 13th annual Pink T Shirt fundraiser raised about $6,000 for the Bhorade Cancer Center in Downers Grove. Pictured (left to right) are Lt.
